Who we are

Nordic Impact Lab was established in late 2022 and incorporated as Nordic Impact Lab ApS in 2023. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, the company develops traceable primary data and analytical methodologies that support investment and transaction decision-making.

Positioned upstream of formal due diligence, Nordic Impact Lab generates evidence-based primary data directly from portfolio companies. This provides investors with a structured baseline that supports valuation integrity, risk assessment, accountability, and capital allocation.

The company's proprietary methodology, MAST+ (Maturity Assessment Sustainability Tool), combines structured interviews, documentation review, and a consistent analytical framework to generate decision-relevant primary data that can be examined, challenged, and defended throughout the investment process.

Nordic Impact Lab operates independently of investment managers, legal advisers, accounting firms, and consulting firms. The company's role is limited to establishing an independent primary data baseline and does not include implementation or advisory services. This separation preserves methodological independence and removes commercial incentives to recommend follow-on work.

The methodology is aligned with relevant European regulatory frameworks, including the EU Taxonomy, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). It is designed to ensure data integrity, traceability, and consistency across investment processes. Aggregated and anonymised data is stewarded independently through the Believe in Tomorrow Foundation to support long-term benchmarking and research while maintaining the confidentiality of individual company data.
